I guess this is the hardest part...
But I'd really like you to get to know me a little. I came across
glass beads by accident a few years ago. That was the first time that I ever saw glass beads. I was amazed. For a few days, all I could see were glass beads floating in front of my eyes.
That’s right… walking, sleeping, working – everywhere those beads were haunting me.
So I began seeking teachers. I started with Cindy Jenkins’s book and tools that I ordered trough the web. Not long after, I went on a week’s trip to Murano, Italy, The haven (and heaven) of all glassmakers, where I took a class with a local artist.
That was a first trip in a long list of journeys I made following my
passion for glass. The last one was only a few months ago to Washington State, where I took an unforgettable class with Michael Barley and Andrea Guarino.
I have been an Industrial and exhibition designer for most of my professional life.
Working with glass has opened a door for me to another field of creation.
Today, I am lucky to be able to combine my work as a designer and creating with glass. As you see, Changes happen and dreams do come true…
If you wondered about what my life looks like, here is a picture – Born in Jerusalem, I now live in a small village half way between Jerusalem and Tel-Aviv. We are in a wine growing area and the view that I see from my window is mostly vine and olive groves. I have 3 daughters, 2 cats, 1 clever dog and (one) very supportive husband. Add to that two love birds that I have lately, unfortunately, inherited from my father who passed away, and you get some of the picture…
Sending you a lot of love from the holy land,
Yours
Anatea.
